About Us

We are a UK-based online retailer selling rugs and home décor products via our website. These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made through our website.

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

1. Force Majeure Clause

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, any of our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”). This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, fire, flood, extreme weather, strikes, industrial action, courier delays, and governmental restrictions. In such cases, we may suspend or delay deliveries and will notify you as soon as reasonably possible

2. Limitation on Use of Website

You may view and purchase products via this website for personal use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any of our content (including images, text, logos, or designs) for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

3. Ordering Errors

We take reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of pricing and product information. In the event of an obvious error in price or product description, we reserve the right to cancel the order and notify you as soon as reasonably possible.

4. Dispute Resolution / Contact Before Legal Action

If you have a complaint or dispute regarding your order or these Terms, please contact us at [sales@kingofrugs.co.uk]. We will aim to resolve all disputes amicably before any formal legal action is taken.

5. Website Availability

We strive to ensure the website is available at all times. However, we do not guarantee continuous availability and shall not be liable for temporary interruptions or downtime.

6. Premium / Additional Rug Protection Clause

For hygiene and safety reasons, rugs must not be used in any way prior to inspection and approval for return. Customers are strongly advised to inspect rugs on a clean, dry surface without walking on, laying, or installing them. Any returned rugs showing evidence of use may be subject to deduction or rejection as described in clause 12.

7. Products

We sell:

  • Machine-made rugs

  • Handmade rugs

  • Custom and made-to-order rugs

Product Descriptions

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, dimensions and specifications are accurate. However:

  • Colours may vary slightly due to screen displays and lighting.

  • As rugs are textile products, size variations of up to 3–5% may occur.

  • Handmade rugs may contain slight irregularities in weave, colour or finish. These are natural characteristics of handmade craftsmanship and are not considered defects.

All products are subject to availability.

8. Orders

When you place an order:

  1. You will receive an automatic confirmation email.

  2. This confirmation does not constitute acceptance of your order.

  3. A legally binding contract is formed only when we dispatch the goods.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including for reasons such as:

  • Pricing errors

  • Stock unavailability

  • Suspected fraudulent activity

If we cancel an order after payment has been made, a full refund will be issued.

9. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are shown in GBP (£).

  • Prices include VAT where applicable.

  • Delivery charges are shown at checkout unless otherwise stated.

  • Full payment must be received before goods are dispatched.

We accept payment via approved secure payment providers. We do not store full card details.

10. Delivery (United Kingdom Only)

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only.

Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only and are not guaranteed.

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery.

You must inspect the goods upon delivery and notify us within 48 hours if there is visible damage.

11. Additional Delivery Charges - Remote, Offshore & Surcharged Areas

Certain UK locations incur additional courier surcharges.

These may include (but are not limited to):

  • Inverness and the Scottish Highlands

  • Scottish Islands

  • Northern Ireland

  • Isle of Man

  • Isle of Wight

  • Jersey

  • Guernsey

  • Channel Islands

  • Postcodes including but not limited to: AB, IV, KW, HS, ZE, PA (certain areas), BT and other remote postcode regions

Where the actual delivery cost to your address exceeds our standard delivery charge, we reserve the right to contact you to request payment of the additional carriage cost.

In such circumstances:

  • We will notify you of the additional amount before dispatch.

  • You may choose to proceed and pay the additional delivery charge.

  • Alternatively, you may cancel your order for a full refund.

  • We will not dispatch the goods until any additional delivery fee has been agreed and paid.

Delivery to these areas may also be subject to extended lead times beyond our standard delivery estimates.

We reserve the right to cancel orders where delivery to a location is not commercially viable. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.

12. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Under UK law, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods for a full refund.

To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing (email is acceptable).

Returns will only be accepted if pre-authorised by us. Please contact us for a return authorisation before sending goods back. Unauthorised returns may be refused or returned at the customer’s expense.

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

Return Conditions

  • Goods must be unused and in resaleable condition.

  • Original packaging should be retained where reasonably possible.

  • You are responsible for return postage costs unless the goods are faulty.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods (or receiving proof that they have been returned), in accordance with UK consumer law.

All returned goods are subject to inspection upon receipt. Refunds will only be issued once the goods have been inspected and confirmed to be in new, unused and resaleable condition.

Rugs must not have been used, laid, installed, soiled, washed, altered or exposed to conditions that may cause wear, damage, staining, odours or fibre compression. Inspection may include checks for signs of foot traffic, marking, pet hair, scent transfer, cleaning attempts or improper repackaging.

If the goods show signs of use or handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them, we reserve the right to make a deduction from the refund to reflect any loss in value.

Where returned goods are deemed not to be in resaleable condition and unsuitable for resale as new, we reserve the right to refuse the refund. In such cases, you will be responsible for the cost of re-delivery should you wish the item to be returned to you.

13. Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to:

  • Custom-sized rugs

  • Made-to-order rugs

  • Personalised rugs

Unless they are faulty, damaged, or not as described.

14. Faulty, Damaged or Misdescribed Goods (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be:

  • Of satisfactory quality

  • Fit for purpose

  • As described

If a rug is faulty:

  • You have 30 days from delivery to reject it for a full refund.

  • After 30 days, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement.

  • If repair or replacement is not possible, you may be entitled to a refund.

This does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage caused by misuse

  • Incorrect cleaning

  • Improper storage

  • Exposure to excessive moisture or direct sunlight

15. Handmade Rugs

Due to their nature:

  • Variations in size, weave, pattern and tone are normal.

  • Slight inconsistencies are part of the handmade process and are not faults.

  • Natural fibres may shed initially - this is normal and reduces over time.

16. Failed Deliveries & Re-Delivery

If delivery fails due to:

  • An incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer

  • Refusal to accept delivery

  • Failure to rearrange delivery with the courier within the required timeframe

  • Failure to be available to receive delivery where a signature or attendance is required

We reserve the right to charge additional re-delivery costs.

Where goods are returned to us as a result of the above circumstances and the customer subsequently requests a refund, we reserve the right to deduct from the refundable amount:

  • The original delivery charge (including any surcharge for remote or offshore areas), and

  • Any return carriage charges incurred by us, and

  • A reasonable restocking or handling fee reflecting the direct costs incurred in processing the returned goods.

Any deductions will reflect actual costs reasonably incurred and will be communicated to you where applicable.

17. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the goods.

We shall not be liable for damage, loss or injury caused by improper use, installation, cleaning, or handling of the rugs after delivery.

Any content submitted by customers (including reviews or images) may be used by us for promotional purposes, and by submitting such content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to do so.

18b. Electronic Communications

By using our website and submitting orders, you agree to receive communications from us electronically. Notices sent by email or displayed on the website shall be deemed received immediately upon sending or posting.

19. Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
